Why you should add Benandante to your fall TBR

As the weather chills, many of us look for books to match the mood. We want stories of witches and vampires with gothic atmospheres. While Benandante doesn’t actually take place in the fall, I still think you’ll want to add it to your autumn TBR.

For those who want witches: Mrs. Euphemia Beaufort is a Benandante, basically a good witch. She uses the elements to defeat her opponents.

For those who want ghosts: Mr. Ezra Morgan is the seventh son of a seventh son, allowing him to see spirits. This comes in handy as they hunt down the creatures from the Abyss.

For those who want vampires: Lilith is a Strix, a giant bird that sucks souls from children’s bodies.

For those who want werewolves: Cain, the first murderer, can change into a wolf during the full moon. And he’s loose in London.

For those who want the gothic atmosphere: The summer of 1903 is one of the wettest ones on record for England. Thunder and lightning heighten the intensity of being stalked during a dance.
